This website was founded by Dr Colinda Linde, a clinical psychologist and CBT specialist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Says Colinda: "There's a high demand for CBT services globally—a clear indication of its efficacy. However, adequately trained, experienced CBT psychologists are relatively scarce, especially in this country. And sometimes, you need help quickly, or your medical insurance has run out, or you're looking to go beyond what your therapist can provide. For all these reasons, and more, I've created and co-created various self-help solutions, many of which are available through this website. I trust that they'll make a difference for you—that, by using them, you'll learn to manage yourself to have a different, better experience of life."

Sound Bowls and Smelly Pots

How a sound bath turned into a reminder that I'm also annoyingly human.  Reclining on my yoga mat this morning, eye covers and warm blankie in place, the opening tone of the sound bowl pervading the space, all was in place for a relaxing 40 minute sound bath. You can likely tell from the tone – or [...]

How Do You Break a Fast?

MANY OF us know the images of the Allied forces liberating prisoners from concentration camps in 1945. We are also no strangers to images of malnourished children in many African countries. The urge to feed and nourish a starving person is instinctive, yet there can be severe consequences when this is done too hastily. There is [...]

Making it Through the Third Leg

By |

WELL HERE we are, slowly adjusting to the new normal. We also have over three weeks of lockdown and cabin fever behind us, and just over two weeks to go!  And it’s here, right about at the three-quarter mark, where things can be turned around or can get a little hairy. I am deliberately writing about [...]
